Leading groups around the world to Britain,Iceland, Norway, Africa, Belize and the USA his journeys led him to Canada where he met his wife Brenda. Marraige, retirement from the military, and Immigraton quickly followed. He currently works with his wife’s company, Mahikan Trails. He is accredited by the ACMG as a Backpacking Guide and the Interpretive Guides Association as a Professional Interpreter.

At Painted Warriors, our Ojibway, Cree, and Mohawk heritage is woven into everything we do and shapes the authentic outdoor experiences we create for our guests. Since 2012, we have been reconnecting our customers to the land through wilderness education, hands-on training, Aboriginal traditions, and stories.

The Interpretive Guides Association (formally Mountain Parks Heritage Interpretation Association) is a professional body representing interpretive guides who connect people to Canada’s natural and cultural areas.

We believe that meaningful and memorable experiences can be fostered with professionally accredited interpreters. These interpreters weave the local natural and cultural history into engaging stories that help people feel a personal connection to the landscapes and cultures they are immersed in.

Like any professionals, interpreters need professional representation, accreditation and on-going opportunities for learning and discovery. The Interpretive Guides Association provides services that support guides and ensure visitors that go out with them have enjoyable, safe and memorable experiences.
